Hi Jay,

That's why I was sort of hoping that Leger de Maine would either grace us with a physical presence at a certain gathering or two this fall or at least maybe the infamous Flutterby or KMartha might make it. Either one of these fine carvings would be a delight to have in a log book!

this makes me start wondering about a question... I was wondering if it
would be good form or not to carry extra paper/card stock to stamp some
images from the stamps in boxes? I've been a stamper/paper artist for almost
8 years now, and some of these beautiful stamps just cry out to be made into
more elaborate pieces of art, besides just a plain stamp in my log book...
not that I live anywhere near any of them... or even have found a single box
yet! lol. but I thought it would be good to ask, since the question came to
mind.

Wow! Leger de Maine's carving is definitely a source of inspiration!!!
I've got a couple Leger de Maine stamps in my logbook, but only ones
that have made their way to the West Coast. I feel priveleged and
honored to have met the acquaintance of these letterboxes. Maybe
someday I can meet this great carver and placer of letterboxes via more
than just his stamps!

Best regards,

I live near and I don't expect to ever meet "leger". He prefers to remain a
mystery, I guess, and is probably enjoying this conversation immensely!
